Mariusz Rumak, known for managing several Ekstraklasa clubs, including Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, might be returning to Poland's top flight. After several years out of the coaching circuit, media reports suggest his potential employment at Pogoń Szczecin, though not in a coaching capacity.

Rumak twice managed Lech Poznań (from 2012-2014 and again in 2023-2024), and also worked at Zawisza Bydgoszcz, Śląsk Wrocław, the aforementioned Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, and Odra Opole. He briefly served as the manager for the Poland U19 national team. Since his second departure from Lech Poznań, he has not managed any club.

Information regarding his return to Ekstraklasa was reported by Daniel Trzepacz from Pogonsportnet. According to the reports, Mariusz Rumak held discussions in Szczecin concerning the position of the new academy director, not the first-team coach. It was emphasized that he is not the only candidate for this role.

Pogoń Szczecin, the club reportedly interested in Rumak's services, is currently in a difficult situation in the PKO Ekstraklasa. After 30 rounds, the "Portowcy" (Dockers) sit in fourteenth place in the table, with only a two-point advantage over the relegation zone.

In the coming weeks, Pogoń Szczecin will face crucial rivals in their fight for survival. Their schedule includes matches: May 3 Pogoń vs. Wisła Płock, May 9 Jagiellonia vs. Pogoń, May 15 Zagłębie vs. Pogoń, and May 23 Pogoń vs. GKS Katowice.
